THINGS TO DO:

Pier Park is located about 7 miles east and includes shopping, restaurants, etc. Jimmy Buffett's Margaritavillethe Back Porch Seafood and Oyster House, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Hofbrau Beer Garden, Reggae J's Island Grill, and more restaurants.  Dillards, J. C. Penneys, Target, Coldwater Creek, As Seen on TV, Ron Jon's Surf Shop lots more shopping and a 16 screen movie theater.  When it is finished, there will be over 100 shops or restaurants.  If you go to Margaritaville, go early or check in (they provide beepers); we've seen the wait up to 2 hours.

Lots of Golf:  Hombre Golf Club, Holiday Golf,  Signal Hill Golf Course are less than 15 minutes away.

Shipwreck Island Waterpark, Gulf World Marine Park, Rockit Lanes,Bowling, Skating, Arcade and Billiards, Coconut Creek Fun Park, Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum, Club LaVelaZoo World and Ebro's Dog Racing are just a sampling of fun things to do in Panama City Beach.  If you're into souvenirs, Alvin's Island has the best selection.

Other popular restaurants:  Bayou Bill's Crab House is only 1/2 mile from entrance - really good seafood when you don't want to drive far.  Across the bridge to the West, about 2 to 3 miles are:  Shades, The Terrace Restaurant (reservations suggested), and Spicy Noodle (great Pizza).  About 12 miles away:   Pineapple Willy'sSaltwater Grill (we highly recommend for special occasions - huge aquarium in lobby), Barefoot Beach Club (great Po-boy sandwiches),Dirty Dick's Seafood, and Spinnakers Beach Club (our favorite hamburger place at the beach).  Boars' Head Restuarant, and Dusty's Bar & Grill (where the locals hang out - we get a pound of fried shrimp and 2 salads for our meals), Pompanos' Seafood, and Angelo's Steak Pit also come highly recommended.  Boondock's Seafood Restaurant is located at the West Bay Bridge on Hwy. 79 - about 12 miles - and is where most of the locals eat seafood.  Montego Bay at Shoppes of Edgewater (great gumbo).  Some other restaurants that are popular are:  Captain Anderson'sLady Anderson's Dining Cruise, Breakers, the Treasure ShipSchooners,Sharky's, and Boathouse of Destin.

Camp Helen's State Park is located just across Phillips Inlet to the West.  If you're into history, great place; the Rangers enjoy sharing their knowledge of how Phillips Inlet got its name and how area was accessed before Hwy 98 was built.

You may want to check out Along the Gulf; it has lots of information about the area including Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Panama City Beach and Panama City.

Downtown Panama City, our favorite restaurants are: Granny Cantrell's and Hunts Oyster Bar.
