The Security Gate is shared with Carillon Beach (a community of multi-million dollar cottages and Downtown Carillon). Two grocery stores, a day spa and Bayou Bill's Seafood Restaurant are within a quarter mile of the Security Gate entrance. The shoppes and restaurants at Downtown Carillon are within walking distance.
The Pinnacle Port Condo Resort complex at Panama City Beach includes a large indoor/outdoor heated pool, separate men and women's saunas, an outdoor pool, children's playground, 4 tennis courts, shuffleboard and horseshoe areas, a picnic pavilion and a multi-slip boat dock. Many guests bring their boats or jet skis for use on 600+ acre Lake Powell (adjacent to the property).
You can also see the Shuffleboard courts and Horseshoe court. Your view from that balcony also includes a view of Phillips Inlet, Camp Helen's State Park and Lake Powell. Families enjoy meeting at the picnic pavilion which includes at least 3 grills and picnic tables.
Walk across the parking lot past the tennis courts and you can sit in the gazebo or swings and watch both children and adults catch fish or crabs or feed the Blue Heron's on the boat dock. The dock also has a fish cleaning station for those who wish to clean their catch.
When the weather is not great or you get tired of hanging out at Romantic Beach Condo 's pool or beach, Pier Park (a 10-minute drive) is a must see with upscale shopping and dining including Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, Back Porch Seafood, Hofbrau House Beer Garden, Dillards, Penney's, Target, Coldwater Creek, a 16-screen theater, Carousel rides (with more rides to come including several from the old Panama City Beach Miracle Strip Park) and lots more eating and shopping. Inlet Beach and Rosemary Beaches are 5 minutes away and Silver Sands of Destin (largest outlet mall in US) is located about 25 miles West. There are lots more upscale shopping areas and great seafood restaurants in Destin.
